Crates for Ukraine
Mission to the World, the missions sending agency of our denomination, has been used of the Lord to help establish a number of churches in Ukraine. We have walked alongside these churches for many years, through times of growth and times of suffering. Christ the King is linking arms with them now to help care for those who have been hurt and displaced by war. At the request of the Ukrainian Church and our national partners, we are providing personal and humanitarian aid from the hands of churches in the U.S. to the hands of churches and displaced communities in Ukraine. HERE is a link to read more about it.
We hope to fill 4 crates with very specific items and deliver them to Chattanooga by March 1, 2023. How can you help?
Pray for God to end the war in Ukraine, grow His Church and give great faith to His people during this time of suffering.
Pray for God to provide 1,500 crates by March 16 and 500 crates during January.
Pray for 200 churches to sign up with CFU by March 1.
Pray for a great partnership and relationship with our partner shipping companies – BC Williams and Flexport. Pray for Flexport to transport all crates for free. Praise the Lord for these companies and for the resources they have donated.
Pray for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ukraine as they receive aid, distribute aid and minister to those in need. May the Lord use CFU to create pathways for the Gospel and the formation of new Gospel communities.
Praise the Lord for all our local drop points. Pray for all the associated coordination and logistics.
Second, consider donating:
You can donate either cash or items from THIS LIST. We only need items from the list! The overall cost of the endeavor will be in the neighborhood of $3,000 – $4,000. We plan to fill 2 “Basic Care” crates, and 1 each of the “Basic Wound Care” and “Basic Meds” crates. If you are giving cash, we will match whatever you give from the missions budget of the church and purchase the needed items.
How to Give:
- Place a check or cash in the offering at church. Mark the check or an envelope with cash with “Crates for Ukraine”.
- CLICK HERE to give digitally through Church Center by selecting “Crates for Ukraine” in the dropdown menu.
- Go to the above link, purchase something on one of the lists and bring it to church. Once you’ve done so, please let us know what you’ve purchased at our Sign Up Genius HERE so that we can know what we have and what we still need to buy. You can leave donated items at the GotQuestions table in the lobby each Sunday between now and Sunday, February 19.
- Contact Brian Deringer (Community Engagement and Missions Team) to talk about how you can help.
This will be our first international missions endeavor! Let’s knock it out of the park!
