Creating a Community of Disciples that Abide in Christ the King
WELCOME!
We are delighted that you have visited our website and want to learn more about Christ the King! Our church plant started in early 2020 and began our launch season in April 2021. Church planting is the way new churches begin, and a launch season is the time in which the church becomes more and more public in its worship and work. This means that Christ the King might be a little different from church experiences you’ve encountered in the past. Exploring this site will give you a good idea of what Christ the King is all about, so please check it out and feel free to reach out with any questions. We hope that you will come and visit us in person soon!

EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CRATES FOR UKRAINE
Mission to the World (the missions sending agency of our denomination) has set out to provide personal and humanitarian aid from the hands of churches in the U.S. to the hands of churches and displaced communities in Ukraine through a project called Crates for Ukraine. We are so excited for CTK to join them in this effort. Our hope is to fill 4 crates with the needed items by March 1, 2023. You can CLICK HERE to find out more about the project and to learn how you can give both money and physical items toward this effort. Questions? Email admin@ctkbraselton.org or meet a member of our Community & Missions Engagement Team at the GotQuestions table in the lobby after the service this Sunday.
YOUTH GROUP
Middle and high school students are invited to join us for Youth Group every Wednesday from 6-7:30pm at the Townsends’. There will be food and lots of fun! For questions including an address please email youth@ctkbraselton.org.
CTK DISCOVERY CLASS
If you are considering membership at CTK or simply want to learn more about who we are, our next Discovery Class will be on Saturday, February 4 from 9am-1pm at Buck & Katelyn’s house. The CTK Discovery Class is a deep dive into the vision, values, and beliefs of Christ the King. Attending a class is required to become a member of CTK, but your attendance does not mean you have to become a member. Lunch is provided and childcare is available. Please RSVP to Grace at gfarr@ctkbraselton.org if you plan to attend or if you have any questions. To learn more about the membership process at CTK, CLICK HERE.
KIDS OF THE KING
This Sunday (February 5) will be our next Kids of the King Sunday! On these special Sundays, we join in our worship service with all of our children ages 4 and up in an effort to be together as one church family, allow our children to experience and participate in our worship service, and consider what it means for all of us to have a childlike faith in Jesus. If you have friends and neighbors with kids or youth, this would be a great Sunday to invite them to join us! Please note, the nursery will still be available for children ages 3 and under.
ELDER CANDIDATE MEET & GREET
As we prepare for our first ever elder election, all are invited to attend an Elder Candidate Meet & Greet drop in event on Sunday, February 5th from 12:30-2:30pm. This will be an opportunity for folks to further get to know our five elder candidates and ask any questions they may have before our election on the following Sunday morning. The drop in will be graciously hosted by members of the Flowery Branch East Community Group. Lunch will not be provided, but there will be light refreshments if you come straight from church and need a bite. We hope that you will consider joining us! For questions including an address, please email Grace at gfarr@ctkbraselton.org
FAMILY BREAKFAST & ELDER ELECTIONS
All are invited to join us for a Family Breakfast on the morning of Sunday, February 12, beginning at 9am before our worship service. After breakfast, we will pass out ballots to hold our first election of CTK elders. Please note that while we invite everyone to join us for the breakfast portion, voting is a right reserved only for official members, so only those who have joined as members will be eligible to receive ballots. There will not be childcare until the worship service begins, but children are welcome to join us. The voting portion will be very brief. If you are interested in helping, please be on the lookout for details about how you can contribute to the breakfast.
SCATTERED WORSHIP
On Sunday, February 26 and again on March 19, we are unable to book our usual space at The Venue at Friendship Springs. Instead, we will be participating in Scattered Worship that morning at different homes throughout our community. Services will still begin at 10:30 at each location. Be on the lookout for a map coming soon of the locations so that you can find one near you!
SMALL GROUPS @ CTK
Both our Community Groups and our Discipleship Groups resumed this month for a new Ministry Year! Community Groups are mid-sized groups that are geographically based. These groups meet regularly to provide a way for new folks to meet the CTK community, to discuss the Bible, and to serve in the local community. Discipleship Groups are smaller groups, usually 5-8 people of the same gender, who meet for the purpose of following Jesus together and are a year-long commitment. These groups are focused on memorizing scripture, developing abiding practices, accountability, prayer, and learning how to share your faith. If you are interested in Community Groups, CLICK HERE! For more info on D-Groups, please contact our Discipleship Directors, Lorrie Deringer (lderinger@ctkbraselton.org) or Mark Landers (mlanders@ctkbraselton.org).
VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
As a church plant, there are always many opportunities to volunteer at CTK. We believe that volunteering is not only a great way to serve the church, but also a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and community. Whether you are setting up chairs together, serving coffee and delights alongside a friend, or having great conversation as you rock babies in the nursery, some of the most encouraging friendships in our church have been formed as our people have served alongside each other. If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to have you! Please simply complete our Volunteer Survey so we know what you are interested in, and a staff member or ministry lead will contact you as needs arise.
