ANNOUNCEMENTS & UPCOMING EVENTS

October is CTK Leadership Appreciation Month! We are excited to celebrate, honor and thank God for our Children’s Ministry leaders this year. Beginning Sunday, October 5, you’re invited to bring notes of thanksgiving, prayer and encouragement for CTK’s Director of Children’s Discipleship, Emma Ferrell, the dozens of Kids Discipleship Leaders, Team Leaders, and even the newest member to the Children’s Leadership Team, Olivia Shepard. There will be a birdcage at the Got Questions table to collect them. We will also be enjoying their favorite Sunday morning treats all month. Yum!

Please join us for our Fall Day of Blessing on Saturday morning, October 25. We will meet at Chestnut Mountain Fellowship Hall at 8:30am for prayer and a light breakfast before heading out on our different community projects. You can sign up to serve today by clicking HERE.

Even though our NextGen Ministry is currently “under construction” we still want to find intentional ways to connect our 3rd-5th grade students together (and their families), where presently they have no formal avenue for discipleship or fellowship at CTK. One way we’d like to do that is at a night of Games & S’mores at the Whitley Home on November 1 from 6:30 – 8:30pm! We’ll have both indoor and outdoor games for students to enjoy. We’ll also have all the fixings for s’mores around the fire pit, along with hot chocolate and cider. While siblings not in 3rd-5th grade are more than welcome to attend, please keep in mind that parents will need to keep track of them (and the Whitleys do have a pool—which will be covered—in their backyard.) RSVP HERE today!

Women & the Word meets the first Wednesday of each month for a time of study and fellowship at Teresa Bishop’s house. Our next meeting will be November 5th. If you aren’t yet involved in a D-Group, this is an especially great way for you to plug in and get to know the women of CTK. We hope you will join us!

Join us Sunday, November 16, for our church wide Friendsgiving & Chili Bowl immediately following worship in the auditorium. There will be sweet fellowship and a little spicy competition (with prizes!) Invite friends, family & neighbors to this fun event that will also include bounce houses & chicken nuggets for our littles. You can RSVP HERE and sign up for our chili bowl and potluck HERE. Come abide with us and please bring a friend!

This Sunday, Pastor Buck will continue in our sermon series in the book of Proverbs called “Proverbs: Pondering the Paths of your Feet.” We will specifically be looking at Proverbs 5:1-23 in a sermon titled Wise Sexuality.

“Jesus declares not that he has come to reform religion but that he’s here to end religion and to replace it with himself.” (Tim Keller, The King’s Cross)
