We will be offering an ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) training on Thursday, September 29 from 7-9pm at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church
for anyone who would like to attend. Research shows us that our experiences in childhood form the foundation for brain architecture, and that foundation impacts our mental, emotional and physical well-being into adulthood. When those experiences are adverse or traumatic, there can be life-long consequences,
especially in the absence of caring adults. However, caring communities (like the church) can not only prevent adverse childhood experiences but can bu er the negative outcomes in adults. We are rubbing shoulders and meeting with adults
every day who live with some of those outcomes. Understanding trauma helps us help each other as adults. This training will explore these subjects and show the science behind the “one another” passages in scripture, like love one another, build up one another, bear with one another, and be patient with one another. The God who created us created us to need each other. Questions? Reach out to Lorrie Deringer at lderinger@ctkbraselton.org.
