REV. BUCK ROGERS
LEAD PASTOR
I was born in McRae, GA and raised by a wonderful family that was committed to Jesus and the church. I attended Mercer University in 1993 and became involved in the PCA’s campus ministry (RUF) where I was deeply challenged and shaped by the gospel. In college God called me to vocational ministry as I found ministering in RUF and the local church delightful and fulfilling. I am divorced and remarried, which is a significant part of my story that God has used to draw me to himself in beautiful and unexpected ways. I have been married to Katelyn Rogers since 2014 and have five kids: Eli (18), Rosie (16), Sarabelle (13), Abby (5), and Henri (2). I have served in a number of ministry roles over the past 25 years: a teacher, youth minister, college campus pastor, assistant pastor, interim pastor and church planter.
Katelyn and I felt Jesus calling us toward church planting in 2018. After a period of praying and assessment, we pursued planting CTK Braselton in January of 2020. Being an elder in the church is a delight to me, and I particularly love vision-casting, leadership development, and preaching. It is such an honor to be nominated to be the Lead Pastor at Christ the King, and I hope for a long and fruitful ministry here.
My hobbies include: hobbitting with my family, following the Georgia Bulldogs, grilling choice meats, and occasionally exercising. The mountains are my favorite place, and I hope to one day retire there and open a barber shop.
SHANE AMMONS
I grew up in a small town in South Georgia called Buena Vista where I regularly attended First Baptist Church. My wife, Stephanie, and I met in college where we were both involved with Campus Outreach. We have been married for 23 years and we have 5 children – Emily Hayter (married to Stephen), Grace, Micah, Josiah and Spencer. On September 2 of 2022, we welcomed our first grandchild – Meredith Rose Hayter! I am the Senior Commercial Estimator for FlorWorx of Atlanta. My hobbies include fishing and coaching my boys in basketball and baseball. I am also a bit of a fan of the Dawgs, Braves, Falcons and Hawks.
Over and over and over He has used and continues to use my brothers and sisters in Christ to help me remember the truth that God loves me because of what Jesus has done and not because of what I have done. And I would count it a privilege to be able to help others remember this as well as an elder of CTK.
Please pray first that I will be continually aware of my need for Jesus and that I would run to Him as my only hope. Secondly, that I will not hide, but seek to be vulnerable, open, and honest with my family and with the men that He has put in my life to push me closer to Him. Lastly, that I would be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry especially with those He has called me to serve.
CHRIS BOZEMAN
I am Chris Bozeman. I have been married to my saint of a bride, Lisa, for 35 years as of this December! We have 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and 3 grandchildren: Lauren (31) & Jerome Gauthey, Zoë (2 years), Theo (4 months), Caris (29) & Alex Lockwood, Lucy (1 year), and Joy Bozeman (20). I am recently semi-retired and work part-time. I am an audiophile and enjoy golf when I can. We came to CTK after the church plant we were working with in Jefferson closed. We knew Buck and, upon visiting, almost immediately heard God saying, “this is where I want you”.
I served as an elder in the PCA from 2002-2010 and when asked if I would consider serving at CTK, I became excited and hopeful at the prospect of shepherding out of the miraculous work God has done in my heart over the last decade. Please let me share with you how good Jesus is!
As I walk this path apprehensively, please pray that God would ONLY allow me to be a blessing to His church and His flock and that I would increasingly daily surrender my will to His.
MARK LANDERS
I am an Atlanta native and growing up, I never doubted the facts about Jesus, but set a course running away from God’s invitation to relationship. At the end of my freshman year in college, and the end of any joy in the counterfeits I had been pursuing, I asked Jesus to reign in my life. I have been married to Aleta for over 39 years and we have 3 amazing children and 5 grandchildren. I finished my career in earth science engineering in 2021 and began serving as Men’s Discipleship Director at CTK. I love time with family and friends, running and horseback riding, camping, and water sports; ideally combining as many of these as possible! I also love reading about the gospel, history, and epic fantasy.
I feel called to be an elder at CTK because I love Jesus’ people and mission; and the local church is our base camp for that mission. Of all the sweet and bittersweet slices of our lives, Aleta and I have always felt called to and been enriched in the work of the local church. In particular, at CTK, I see an opportunity to really engage with and welcome the unchurched and dechurched and walk toward heaven together.
Please be praying for Aleta and I as we continue to transition to our ’new’ careers, and to grandparenthood. Pray for us to serve with joy and effectiveness.
KRIS MAYNARD
Cindy and I have been married for 32 years and we have been blessed with three wonderful children, Rachael (27), Ryan(25), and Justin (22). Rachael is married to Caleb and they have blessed us with our first grandchild Wesley and have another one on the way. Ryan is married to Rebekah and they are both graduate students at UGA. Justin is pursuing his degree in counseling psychology.
I am Executive Chairman of Essential Ingredients and Cathedral Holdings, a company I co-founded in 1996. My passions are my family, spending time at our farm in Dahlonega, being outside (fishing, hunting, hiking, working) and helping people discover that work is a form of worship and Gods’ redeeming work in the world.
I have been a Ruling Elder in the PCA for 25 years and much of that has been very hard. I am excited about working on this Session, with Buck, and with all the congregants because of what we are trying to do together by transforming Braselton and being a small part of God’s redeeming work where we have been called and have influence. I believe we have an opportunity to take our combined experiences and, with God’s help, do something very special.
