MATTHEW 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We believe that one of the key purposes of the church is to gather together for worship and fellowship. One of our values is to be a welcoming community that is deliberate in its openness to all kinds of people.
We view our worship service as a weekly dialogue between our congregation and the Lord. In this conversation we pray, sing, hear the Word of God read and preached, celebrate the Lord’s Supper, give, and fellowship together. A sample bulletin for a service can be found here, but the best way to learn about our worship service is to visit our livestream or be our guest on a Sunday.
Richard Foster, Celebration of Discipline
Our hope at CTK is to see people grow as they abide in Jesus. The Bible teaches us many ways to connect with the Lord, but two that we emphasize are small groups and spiritual disciplines.
DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS
Our Discipleship Groups are 5 to 8 people of the same gender committed to meeting from September to May in weekly or biweekly gatherings to study, pray, and grow together in Christ. In these Men’s and Women’s groups we learn truth from Scripture, we are equipped as disciples, we practice accountability with each other, we pray together, and we learn to speak the gospel to our own hearts as well as those of others. The groups are a year long commitment. The ‘open season’ to join a group is during the first two weeks of September and again in January.
If you’d like to learn more about these groups, please contact our Discipleship Directors, Lorrie Deringer (lderinger@ctkbraselton.org) or Mark Landers (mlanders@ctkbraselton.org).
If you’re interested in committing to a discipleship group, please fill out the interest form HERE. This form will close for 2025 on Sunday, September 7.
COMMUNITY GROUPS
Community Groups are mid-sized groups that are geographically based. They can be visited or joined at any time during the year. Guests are always welcome! You are invited to check out several groups to see which might be best for you or your family. Community Groups typically meet in a home 1 to 2 times per month for fellowship, to abide in Christ together, and do life together. Most groups meet Sunday afternoon or during an evening of the week and include a meal, discussion, and prayer time. A group leader will facilitate gospel conversations with their group, often centered around the most recent sermon. The goal is for the group to grow and learn from one-another about abiding in Christ and loving our neighbors.
If you’d like to learn more about these groups, please contact our Director of Congregational Life, Kathy Cerny (kcerny@ctkbraselton.org).

SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES
Spiritual Disciplines are ways by which we seek to regularly abide in Jesus Christ. We sometimes refer to them as abiding practices. Simply put, they are Scriptural ways that disciples seek to be near Jesus and follow Him. Some of these practices involve the church, such as weekly worship, the Lord’s Supper, serving together, hospitality, and fellowship. Others are practices we engage in individually, such as Bible intake, prayer, silence, solitude, and fasting.
Some of these practices will be obvious at CTK, many are cultivated and learned in our small groups. Our hope is that all disciples of Jesus will see the importance of these disciplines in their life over time, and that our church will give avenues, accountability and resources to aid congregants in abiding deeply in Jesus.
We believe the church is to scatter out as salt and light for all spheres of life. We primarily seek to equip our people to do this in two areas: our secondary callings (vocations) and our local community. We are working to grow into more areas of ministry as the church grows.
At Christ the King Braselton, our mission is seen most simply as living out one’s faith at home, work, and play; this means that gathering outsiders to Jesus and growing insiders into Jesus is built into the fabric of our everyday lives. We utilize gift assessments and spiritual health indicators as keys to missional living, seeking kingdom advancement in other cultures and locations through community service, community outreach and engagement, church planting, and global missions.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
“Let the little children come to me… Take care of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven have constant access to my Father.” — Jesus (Luke 18, Mark 18)
Jesus highly values children, and so do we at CTK! We consider it an honor to come alongside parents to disciple our “Kids of the King.” It is our goal to create a safe and joyful environment where our children can learn about their Savior, hear His Word, cultivate friendships, and practice spiritual disciplines such as worship, prayer, and serving their neighbor.
We offer Children’s Discipleship Groups during our worship service at 10:30am for children ages birth through second grade. All classes are reading, exploring, and experiencing God’s Word through The Gospel Story Curriculum. We also offer a Family Worship room with livestream available during the service, though children of all ages are always welcome in Worship at CTK.
Fifth Sundays at Christ the King are “Kids of the King Sundays”- a special Sunday that is geared toward engaging our children. On these Sundays, children ages 4 and up participate in Worship with the congregation. Childcare is available for children ages 3 and under.
Every adult serving with children at CTK has undergone a top tier background check and completed child protection training. If you would like to learn more about our approach to child safety, you can view our Code of Conduct signed by each of our Discipleship Leaders HERE.
What to Bring: We ask that any bottle or sippy cup be pre-labeled before the service. Don’t forget any diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes! We offer a small snack in discipleship groups for children over 1 year, so please be sure to tell the Team Leader at the Check-In Kiosk and your child’s Discipleship Leaders if he or she has any allergies.
Well Child Policy: For the protection of our children, families, and Discipleship Leaders, please adhere to THESE GUIDELINES when determining if you should bring your child to church.
YOUTH MINISTRY
“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…” — Ephesians 4:15
You can find more details about upcoming events and opportunities for Youth on our Instagram below or feel free to contact Armando with any other questions you may have.
MINISTRY MATCHMAKER
There are always many opportunities to volunteer at CTK. We believe that volunteering is not only a great way to serve the church, but also a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and community. Whether you are setting up chairs together, serving coffee and delights alongside a friend, or having great conversation as you rock babies in the nursery, some of the most encouraging friendships in our church have been formed as our people have served alongside each other. To help you find an area where you may be gifted and interested in serving, we invite you to CLICK HERE and take our 3 minute Ministry Matchmaker questionnaire. There is no commitment in taking Ministry Matchmaker – it is just a way for you to find out more about your gifting/interests and match them with needs we have at CTK. Afterwards, feel free to contact leaders in any areas that sound especially interesting to you or leaders will contact you as needs arise.
